Maple Leafs Connections Flying Union Jack

Belfast Giants coach Adam Keefe

When Great Britain competes in the upcoming IIHF World Championship, it will be the country’s first appearance in the top division of world competition since 1994. And while they may be flying the Union Jack, these lads will be carrying some Maple Leafs connections on the ice with them.

British coach Adam Keefe, who’s also the bench boss for the Belfast Giants, is the brother of Sheldon Keefe, coach of the AHL Toronto Marlies and the man being rumored as the replacement in waiting for Mike Babcock behind the bench of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Fred Perlini

Among the forwards at Adam Keefe’s disposal is Brett Perlini. He’s the son of Fred Perlini, a forward who played eight games for the Leafs from 1981-84.
